DESCRIPTION
Old Ballantruan- This heavily peated Singlemalt whisky from the Tomintoul Distillery is available in no-age statement and10-year-old expressions, both of which are bottled without chill filtration. A rare smoky dram among Speyside single malts, with zesty citrus and malty notes and bottled at higher proof. The name comes from the old settlement of Ballantruan which is on the west side of Tomintoul Distillery.
TASTING NOTES
A warm gold hue singlemalt whisky with heathery smoke balanced with subtle floral notes on the nose and gentle “peat-reek” flavours with hints of citrus tones and malty nuttiness on the palate. It finishes in lingering smoke and peat with a touch of malted barley sweetness at the end.
