Liqueurs are the unsung heroes behind some of the most beloved cocktails. Whether they add a burst of citrus, a touch of nuttiness, or a smooth, creamy finish, liqueurs bring personality to every pour. This International Liqueur Day, we’re raising our glasses to these flavor-packed bottles with a few classic and creative cocktails you can easily make at home. These recipes are perfect for intimate gatherings, weekend hangouts, or simply treating yourself!


  1. Mint Chocolate Martini


The luxurious concoction makes an indulgent after-dinner treat.


Ingredients:

  • 45 ml vodka
  • 15 ml Crème de Menthe (green)
  • 15 ml Crème de Cacao (white)
  • 30 ml cream or milk
  • Ice

Instructions:

  • Shake all ingredients with ice until frothy and well chilled. 
  • Strain into a chilled glass. 
  • Garnish with grated chocolate or a mint leaf.


  1. Emerald Highball


Light, zesty, and refreshing, this cocktail is perfect for daytime sipping.


Ingredients:

  • 45 ml gin
  • 20 ml Melon liqueur
  • 15 ml lime juice
  • Soda water, to top
  • Ice

Instructions:

  • Shake gin, melon liqueur, and lime juice with ice. 
  • Strain into a highball glass filled with ice. 
  • Top with soda water.
  • Garnish with a lime wheel or cucumber ribbon.


  1. Banana Rum Shake


A tropical dessert cocktail that gives  a smooth, velvety finish.


Ingredients:

  • 45 ml white rum
  • 30 ml Crème de Bananes
  • 15 ml lime juice
  • 30 ml cream or coconut cream
  • Ice

Instructions:

  • Shake all ingredients with ice until well combined. 
  • Strain into a chilled coupe or rocks glass with ice. 
  • Garnish with banana slices or nutmeg dust.


  1. Cinnamon Orange Sour


Whisky meets cinnamon liqueur and orange curaçao in this warm, spiced twist on a whisky sour.


Ingredients:

  • 45 ml bourbon or whisky
  • 20 ml Cinnamon liqueur
  • 10 ml Orange Curaçao
  • 20 ml lemon juice
  • 10 ml simple syrup
  • Ice

Instructions:

  • Shake all ingredients with ice. 
  • Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. 
  • Garnish with an orange peel and cinnamon stick.


  1. Apricot Royale


This sparkling cocktail combines dry gin, apricot brandy, and bubbles for a bright, fruity aperitif.


Ingredients:

  • 30 ml gin
  • 20 ml Apricot Brandy
  • 10 ml lemon juice
  • Sparkling wine, to top
  • Ice

Instructions:

  • Shake gin, apricot brandy, and lemon juice with ice. 
  • Strain into a wine glass and top with sparkling wine.
