DESCRIPTION
Penfolds St. Henri Shiraz - This high quality Australian red wine was released for the firs time by Penfolds in the early 1950's and this expression is rich and plush when young, gaining soft, earthy, mocha-like characters with age. It is matured in an assortment of old large vats that allow the wine to develop, imparting minimal, if any oak character and a time-honoured and alternative expression of shiraz, and an intriguing counterpoint to Grange.
TASTING NOTES
A premium wine with deep inky blood red hue wine with warmed black olive - mustardy spiced wild rocket, haloumi and scents of a parsley salad, eggplant, caper on the nose. A mouth-watering, finely etched tannins ‘mist up’ the palate and toasted pumpkin seed flavours, tannin-dry yet not puckering in the mouth.
