Happy Lunar New Year! Spring has arrived and we’re here to start brand new beginnings. It’s also the perfect time to gather around with the family and feast together as you honor your customs and traditions. Speaking of new things, perhaps you’d want to serve these delicious drinks on your table as you celebrate this joyous day. Check out these Festive Drinks for the Lunar New Year!

  • Garrick Club Punch
  • It’s the Year of the Rabbit! Time to get into their fluffy shoes and bring those social skills out as you prepare a bowl of Garrick Club Punch for everyone. It’s herbal, tangy and sweet all in one!

    Ingredients

    • 1 Lemon
    • 1 Oz Superfine Sugar
    • 10 Oz Gin
    • 2 Oz Maraschino Liqueur
    • 20 Oz Soda Water
    • Ice

    Instructions

    • Peel the lemon carefully to remove only the yellow peel and not the white pith. Firmly muddle the peel with the sugar in a bowl. Cover and set aside for at least an hour to let the flavors meld.
    • When the peel and sugar mixture is ready, add 3 oz of lemon juice and stir until the sugar fully dissolves. Strain the mixture into an empty bowl or bottle.
    • Add gin, maraschino liqueur and the lemon-sugar juice to a bowl or pitcher with a large block of ice.
    • Top with the chilled soda water and stir to combine. Serve.



  • Jade Cocktail
  • Jade is a symbol of hope, good fortune and new beginnings. Aside from wearing it throughout the celebration, why don’t you serve it too? Attract a prosperous year with this drink!

    Ingredients

    • Ice Cubes
    • 1 Part Light Rum
    • ¼ Part Green Mint Liqueur
    • ½ Part Lime Juice
    • ½ Part Triple Sec

    Instructions

    • Fill a shaker with ice cubes. 
    • Add all ingredients. 
    • Shake and strain into a cocktail glass.

  • Blood Orange Margarita
  • You know the Lunar New Year is here when everywhere you look is red! A symbol for prosperity and energy that wards off negativity, it wouldn’t hurt to add another red drink on your table. 

    Ingredients

    • 7 Tablespoons Silver Tequila
    • 3 Tablespoons Cointreau
    • 1/2 Cup Blood Orange Juice or Mix
    • 2 Tablespoons Lime Juice
    • 3 Sage Sprigs (Plus An Extra For Garnish, If Desired)

    Instructions

    • Put everything including the sage in a shaker with ice.
    • Shake until chilled.
    • Strain the mixture into two margarita glasses, making sure you filter out the sage.
    • Garnish with a blood orange or lime slice, and/or a sage sprig.

  • Oranges are believed to bring good luck and happiness. Their color also symbolizes prosperity. Let your home be filled with all of these great things as you celebrate this wonderful day!

    Ingredients

    • 4 Ounces Orange Juice
    • 2 Ounces Gin
    • 1/2 Ounce Of Patron Citronge
    • 1/4 Ounce Grenadine
    • 1/4 Ounce Lime Juice

    Instructions

    • Option #1
      • Build the ingredients in a highball or martini glass with ice
    • Option #2
      • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
      • Pour in all the ingredients.
      • Shake until chilled.
      • Strain the mixture into a glass.

  • Lotus Dragon
  • One symbol that will always be present during this day is the dragon as it represents good luck, strength, and health. Let this easy drink be your dragon and make it the highlight of your night! 

    Ingredients

    • 1 Part Vodka
    • 1½ Part Lychee Juice
    • 1 Part Orange Juice

    Instructions

    • Shake all ingredients with ice. 
    • Strain into an ice-filled glass.

  • Opium Cocktail
  • Want to step out of the box? Why don’t you give this uniquely delicious and fascinating drink a try! A celebration as grand as this is the perfect time to level up your bartending skills. 

    Ingredients

    • 2 Ounces Bourbon
    • 1/2 Ounce Tamarind Syrup
    • 3/4 Ounce Fresh Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice
    • 1/4 Ounce Fresh Lemon Juice
    • 2 Drops of Poppy Seed Tincture
    • Poppy Seeds

    Instructions

    • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. 
    • Pour in the bourbon, tamarind syrup, grapefruit juice and lemon juice and shake until chilled.
    • Pour into a glass over ice and garnish with the poppy seeds and tincture.

  • Set the New Year on Fire
  • Going back to the roots of tradition when people would burn red bamboo to scare off evil spirits and bring prosperity during the Lunar New Year, set this drink to flames as you celebrate! 

    Ingredients

    • 6 Mint Leaves
    • 3/4 Ounce Lime Juice, Freshly Squeezed
    • 1/2 Ounce Simple Syrup
    • 2 Ounces 12-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch
    • 1/2 Ounce Campari

    Garnish

    • Flaming Lime Shell

    Instructions

    • Add the mint leaves, lime juice and simple syrup into a Collins glass and press the leaves gently with a muddler.
    • Add the scotch and fill the glass with crushed ice.
    • Float Campari on top and fill with more crushed ice.
    • Garnish with a flaming lime shell.

    Garnish Instructions

    • Squeeze the juice from half a lime, reserving the juice for another use. 
    • Place the lime shell atop the prepared cocktail and place 1 sugar cube inside. 
    • Douse the sugar cube with 151-proof rum and carefully light on fire. 
    • Extinguish before drinking.

  • Strawberry Mojito
  • There is no such thing as too much red when you’re celebrating the New Year. Add another red drink on your menu that’s refreshing, perfectly sweet, fruity and fragrant to match the weather!

    Ingredients

    • 1 Ounce (30 Ml) Simple Syrup , or to taste
    • 3 (3 ) Fresh Strawberries (approximately)
    • 2-3 (4 ) Fresh Spearmint Sprigs (chopped if you prefer smaller mint pieces in your cocktail)
    • 1 Ounce (30 Ml) Fresh Lime Juice
    • 2 Ounces (60 Ml) Light Rum
    • 3-4 Ounces (90-120 Ml) Soda Water

    Instructions

    • In a chilled highball glass (about 10-12 ounces), muddle the simple syrup, strawberries and mint leaves together with the back of a spoon or muddler. Crush the strawberries and mint leaves well.
    • Stir in the lime juice and rum. Fill the glass with ice and top off with soda water. Gently stir.
    • Garnish with mint sprigs or strawberry slices.
